URP Welcomes Interim Director Elsa Johnston

By Press Staff Date: September 22, 2021

University of Regina Press is pleased to introduce the newest member of our team, Ms. Elsa Johnston. This week Elsa started in her role as Interim Director and, in the upcoming weeks, will be taking time to engage with members of our vibrant publishing and academic communities.

Elsa brings to the Press over 15 years’ experience in the publishing and communications industries, having started in publishing in 2002 as program manager for the Association of Canadian Publishers in Toronto for three years, before moving back to Saskatchewan.

She has worked for the University of Regina since 2006 and was instrumental in the development of the university’s Open Textbook publishing program, which she ran for four years. In addition to her work experience, Elsa earned a Masters in Publishing from Simon Fraser University in 2002 and a BA Honours in English from University of Saskatchewan in 1999.

URP staff are delighted to be working with her, and we look forward to the year ahead, with a focus on expanding our robust list of award-winning scholarly titles, while continuing to publish national, bestselling trade books that matter.

Please join URP staff in welcoming Elsa! She can be reached at 306-585-4795 or by email at elsa.johnston@uregina.ca.
